Communications Manager & Online Content Producer

HemingwayDesign are looking for a culturally and design aware person to take our communications to a new level

Reporting to the HemingwayDesign Partners, you will be responsible for managing communications, creating and delivering original innovative digital content. This will involve the development of online editorial output across all HemingwayDesign’s multi-disciplinary projects with a specific focus on our placemaking events. You will contribute to an Events Team working on a series of culturally focussed festivals and events including The Classic Car Boot Sale to the Urban Village Fete.


  • To produce and source distinctive content on a variety of platforms
  • To develop and implement strategic plans for online content which promote and drive footfall to the events as well as attract talent / content to take part
  •  Identify a programme of activity and themes for marketing and communications
  • Set out and implement a plan to achieve and maintain agreed annual targets
  •  To manage the budgets, contracts and resources across all marketing spend inc. Facebook Ad Manager and print media advertising
  • Identify new opportunities for third party partnerships to further to grow social media followers, increase newsletter subscriptions and drive footfall
  • To ensure the content reflects each events specific and diverse audiences
  • To work effectively with other departments, internal and external suppliers and partners
  • Collaboration with the curatorial and content production teams to help source and attract new talent and contributors
  • Develop and manage positive working relationships with artists, contributors and talent and be able to give constructive feedback
  • Management of PR agencies including collaboration to identify and create newsworthy stories
  • Produce personalised promotional materials that enable artists and contributors to endorse the event
  • Managing film and photography crews at all events
  • Post event analysis and reporting on comms and social media performance

  • You must be ready to experiment and instigate creative content
  • You should have great communication skills
