In 2009, something rather strange happened: we entered the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with a design without flowers... and won a silver medal! Our 'Window of Opportunity' exhibit formed the basis of a never-seen-before community recreation area, spurred on by our redevelopment of The Staiths. As Wayne explains, “We decided to work with Gateshead Council to engage with a group of local young people, to work with them on creating a facility that will ‘belong’ to them, and, after Chelsea 2009, will be sited in the heart of their community.” Discover more about our award-winning design here.
We love a good shed (have you see our ShackUp range?), so for 2013's Chelsea Flower Show, we wrapped one from top to bottom in our Tulip wallpaper, which is part of the exclusive HemingwayDesign range for SurfaceView.
