Whether your thing is swing, rockabilly, mod, soul, funk, disco, ska, film, art or design, or if you just want to dress up for a day,  Vintage Festival events are a sensual delight, a big dressing-up box, a collector’s dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages. We celebrate the music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1990s, with the emphasis throughout on glamour and head-turning style.

VINTAGE BY THE SEA - 2nd & 3rd September 2023

Vintage By The Sea is a free family festival celebrating the brilliance of timeless design, fashion, art, vehicles, entertainment and culture in  Morecambe. Inspired by the wealth of creativity from the 20th century, Vintage By The Sea is HemingwayDesign’s tribute to the cultural movements of the 1920s to 1990s.

The Classic Car Boot Sale at Kings Cross is a two day celebration of sustainable shopping with preloved clothing, vintage memorabilia and homewares sold from beautiful classic vehicles. 

VINTAGE NEW YEAR'S EVE SPECTACULAR

VNYE

Vintage New Year's Eve Spectacular is our dazzling annual NYE celebration where you can party through the decades in one unforgettable night, with a front-row seat to London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Now in its 10th year, our New Year’s Eve party transforms the Southbank Centre's world-famous Royal Festival Hall into a set-dressed spectacular for one night only, with five floors of festivities featuring music from the 20s through to the present day.

PLATINUM JUBILEE PAGEANT


In late 2021 we were approached by the organisation preparing the finale of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a request to curate a parade of classic vehicles down The Mall as part of a “Platinum Pageant.

We came up with the idea of a “People’s Pageant” that would celebrate one of Britain's defining brand values, its world renowned and constantly evolving youth culture.

    DUNKIRK screening, Camber Sands    

    On the 20th & 21st September 2017, STUDIOCANAL presented the premiere of a new restoration of Leslie Norman’s classic wartime epic DUNKIRK (1958), on the very beaches of Camber Sands where it was shot. As well as the screening, event-goers enjoy an evening of themed 1940s homegrown entertainment, including food and drink of the era, vintage costumes and set dressing, music and walkabout re-enactments in association with The Vintage Festival and Luna Cinema.  

    Vintage On The Dock

    To celebrate 175 years of transatlantic travel, Liverpool, the site of the world’s first scheduled ocean steamship travel on 4th July 1840, the Vintage festival celebrated decades of British cool, transforming the grade I listed dock into a vintage playground laced with experiences, sights and sounds that trace the history of Liverpool’s 175-year relationship with transatlantic travel.     Vintage Glasgow, Merchant City Festival    

    After a sell-out and critically acclaimed Scottish debut in the summer of 2013, the Vintage Festival returned to Glasgow as part of Festival 2014. Festival 2014 was a massive Commonwealth Games time celebration in Glasgow running alongside the sporting action, transforming the city with an invigorating mix of entertainment, culture and enjoyment filling the streets, spaces and stages of Glasgow.

    Fine Tuned

    Albert Dock Liverpool, the city’s cultural and leisure epicentre,  paid homage to both iconic styles of a bygone era and future trends as the Vintage By Hemingway brought its newly created festival Fine Tuned to British Style Collective. Taking place July 2017, visitors were treated to fiercely independent designer makers, street food vendors, classic motors, vintage traders, and performers. Want to know more, click HERE

    Preston Guild

    We returned to our Lancashire roots in September 2012. As part of the Cultural Olympiad it was a case of "all come back to ours" to enjoy a good old Northern knees up that celebrated the creative history of Preston and wider Lancashire, through the Guild years of 1922, 1952, 1972 and 1992, and looked at the current creative scene. We also got our crystal ball out to imagine the local creative landscape in 2032.

    The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

    We were honoured, nay chuffed to have been invited to co-curate the official party for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant on 3rd June 2012 in Battersea Park.

    The event was a 60,000 sell out with tickets changing hands for over 40 times face value.

    Vintage at London Fashion Weekend

    As the curtain falls on London Fashion Week 2011 and 2012, Vintage by Hemingway curated the vintage area of London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House. Fine vintage dealers; starlet makeovers; live music from yesteryear and make do and mend up cycling fun. Recent seasons have also included gramophone DJs, a vintage concierge, tea rooms and a self portrait photo booth.

    Vintage On Ice at Somerset House

    In 2012 Vintage Festival took to the ice of Somerset House to host the fabulous Soul Casino disco. We skated to the sounds that shaped British pop culture, from deep funk to northern soul and we awarded those in their vintage finery with a Best in Show accolade!
